Natcom is the result of the privatization of the Haitian national telecommunication company (Teleco) in 2010 which has a monopoly on the provision of landline services in Haiti. The Vietnamese Telecom (Viettel) company bought a 60% share, with the Haitian government keeping the remaining 40% of the company. Natcom officially launches Internet services in Haiti and will provide DSL internet via fiber and fix-line telephone services along with mobile GSM services.
