Life for Relief and Development
Non-profit Muslim American humanitarian organization founded in 1992 to provide humanitarian aid to people regardless of race, color, religion and cultural background. Life for Relief and Development has been able to distribute over $200 million in humanitarian assistance items. This organization was created by concerned Arab and Muslim American professionals in response to the humanitarian crises that developed in Iraq as a result of the 1991 Gulf War.
Their work participation include Haiti, Ghana, Somalia, Ethiopia , U.S., Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Palestinian Territories (through their office in Israel), Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Sierra Leone, and the Native American schools in various states.
Areas of service: Humanitarian Relief, Emergency Response (construction & maintenance of medical clinics and schools, medical equipment & supplies distribution, repair and setting of water purification plants & water wells), Education and Temporary Shelter.
