Partners In Health (PIH)

Founded in 1987, this organization focuses on delivering health care to the residents of the Central Plateau in Haiti. Twenty years since its inception, PIH expanded its work in other regions of Haiti and 5 other countries. In 1998, PIH launched their Zanmi Lasante Clinic (ZL) initiative to provide free, comprehensive HIV care and treatment in the poorest areas in Haiti. With the support from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, this initiative was expanded two years later, across central Haiti and became known as the HIV Equity Initiative.

Zanmi Lasante Clinic ranks as one of the largest nongovernmental health care providers in Haiti. Currently, PIH is overseeing another huge project, the construction of a teaching hospital in Haiti- Mirebalais Hospital.
