This charitable, Christian organization is dedicated to rescuing orphaned, abandoned children by providing them with shelter, nurturing environment, education and spiritual learning trough child sponsorship and donations. Founded in 2001 by Bill and Susette Manassero (missionaries), the organization cares for both boys and girls and also runs an orphanage, a guest house and other programs to educate the future leaders for Haiti.
Orphanage: Maison de Lumiere (the Lighthouse) is a home for homeless, orphaned and at-risk children for both boys and girls. These children receive medical care, education, bible studies and other programs. In 2009, Episcopal Relief & Development reached more than 3 million people in over 40 countries around the world.
In Haiti, this agency has a longstanding partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti which started prior the 2010 earthquake. One of the key components of this partnership was the creation of the Haiti Development Initiative to assist the local communities in implementing small development projects and coordinating disaster response efforts while working closely with the diocesan development office.

Non-profit Muslim American humanitarian organization founded in 1992 to provide humanitarian aid to people regardless of race, color, religion and cultural background. Life for Relief and Development has been able to distribute over $200 million in humanitarian assistance items. This organization was created by concerned Arab and Muslim American professionals in response to the humanitarian crises that developed in Iraq as a result of the 1991 Gulf War.
Their work participation include Haiti, Ghana, Somalia, Ethiopia , U.S., Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Palestinian Territories (through their office in Israel), Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Sierra Leone, and the Native American schools in various states.
