    ACODEV is an approved federation of associations of NGOs that are of French, bilingual and German development. The federation has about 87 members including 76 NGOs that have been approved as ONGD by the Minister of the Development Cooperation. ACODEV was recognized by the Minister of Development Cooperation as a federation of NGOs of French language. The federation believes in the added value of NGO’s work and strengthens its members to optimize their work and better cooperate in the development.

  • Action Humanitaire (AH)

    An outreach organization committed to providing free health care services to children and adults in the community of Cavaillon and its surrounding villages. Since 2010, AH has been in the forefront of educating the communities about cholera, distributing water purification tablets and feeding about 400 children thanks to its partnership with other humanitarian organizations.

    This organization was founded by Jude Leandre, a medical student at the Faculty of Medicine & Pharmacy of the University of the State of Haiti, who saw a need to educate the community to better care of themselves. AH’s goal is to build a public health center to improve the living conditions of the people of Anotte in Cavaillon, by providing free access to basic and quality healthcare while reducing the mortality rate. This project would also benefit other regional communities like Bercy, Cassignol, Berette, Mission and Mapangue.

    Areas of service: Community health center, outreach projects, water purification, humanitarian, women & children health, prenatal care, disaster response, vaccinations, free lab testing, free access to medications.

    Founded in 2009, this nonprofit community health organization addresses the health concerns of the residents of Fonfrede by promoting school-based health programs and preventive health care. They rely on their volunteers in Haiti and overseas to achieve productivity in their services and their trainings. According to CapraCare, they stand as the only Haitian non-governmental organization located within Fonfrede to address the lack of access to any preventive care and to any other medical facility in the city. Everyone has access to their services regardless of their ability to pay. Their extensive programs help the community at large to overcome the physical, psychosocial and environmental needs that arise from the difficult living conditions in Haiti. CapraCare has a mission to stay efficient in their operations by collaborating with other medical facilities and health care providers to solve issues faced by the people of Fonfrede.

    Currently, CapraCare provides services to approximately 1,500 people annually. They welcome anyone interested in volunteering their pro-bono services in the areas of grant writing, marketing, fundraising, resource developing and Haitian Creole translation to send an inquiry to info@capracare.org.

  • Centre d’Action pour le Developpement (CAD) or Center of Action for Development

    Since 1992, this Non Governmental Organization (NGO) supports children in difficult circumstances (street children, domestic servants and orphans) by providing them with shelter, schooling, psychosocial support, health, and vocational training. In addition, CAD conducts training sessions for the group OCBS and those who live with HIV/AIDS in the North West Department of Haiti.

    CAD’s mission is to care for the social reintegration of street children and those in conflict with the law. They work in partnership with the IBESR (Institut du Bien Être Social in French), a Haitian State Agency which refers the children to CAD. For now, CAD houses 75 to 90 children from the age of 7 to 14 years but their ultimate goal is to ensure 150 children per year access to education, vocational training, health, housing and a family environment.

    CAD is registered with both the Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Planning in Haiti. The organization was able to fulfill their projects with the support of other organizations such as Terre des Hommes Swiss, Chaîne du Bonheur, Service de Solidarité Internationale suisse, PLAN - Haïti, UNICEF, OIM and CRS.

  • Konbit Sante

    This not-for-profit organization focuses in the development of a sustainable health care system to meet the needs of the Cap-Haitien community in Haiti, with maximum local direction and support.

    Konbit Sante staff work in collaboration with the Haitian Ministry of Health and other partners to expand their community outreach programs, to strengthen community health centers and to improve care at the regional referral hospital. In the aftermath of the 2010 devastating earthquake, they were appointed to be the NGO partner on the Health Commission for the North.

    MFK is a non-profit corporation in the United States and a registered non-governmental organization in Haiti whose mission is to save the lives of Haiti's malnourished children and other vulnerable people. Their work consists of developing, producing, and distributing highly nutritious foods, including the gold-standard Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) right in Haiti. Introduced in Haiti in 2003 by Dr Wolff, founder of MFK, Haitians call the RUTF product “Medika Mamba” or “Peanut Butter Medicine” in Creole.   • Partners In Health (PIH)

    Founded in 1987, this organization focuses on delivering health care to the residents of the Central Plateau in Haiti. Twenty years since its inception, PIH expanded its work in other regions of Haiti and 5 other countries. In 1998, PIH launched their Zanmi Lasante Clinic (ZL) initiative to provide free, comprehensive HIV care and treatment in the poorest areas in Haiti. With the support from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, this initiative was expanded two years later, across central Haiti and became known as the HIV Equity Initiative.

    Zanmi Lasante Clinic ranks as one of the largest nongovernmental health care providers in Haiti. Currently, PIH is overseeing another huge project, the construction of a teaching hospital in Haiti- Mirebalais Hospital.
