This grassroots organization has worked with the peasants of Fondwa, Haiti since 1988. Fondwa is known to be the 10th Communal Section of Leogane situated about 60km south of Port-au-Prince. APF implements projects with hands-on-learning to achieve sustainable communities by preventing migration of the youths and by providing the community leaders the right tools to continue their community development. APF has transformed Fondwa into an area of potential economic growth by working closely with the peasants to create a strong foundation that involves health care, financial services, agricultural training, and primary, secondary, and university-level education to the residents of Fondwa.
Some of the infrastructure of Fondwa has been destroyed following the 2010 Haiti earthquake. To name a few: University of Fondwa, House of the Sisters of Saint Anthony of Fondwa, Orphanage Fondwa, Cooperative Savings and Credit Fondwa, APF Health Center and a community radio station (Radyo Zetwal Peyizan Fondwa) and more. As a result of some of those damages, Fondwa’s community needs help in the rebuilding process of those structures. To find out how you can help, click here.
