Conatel is a regulatory cooperation of telecommunications in Haiti that oversees the legislative, management of communications (radio, television, phone lines) and the distribution of internet. Natcom is the result of the privatization of the Haitian national telecommunication company (Teleco) in 2010 which has a monopoly on the provision of landline services in Haiti. The Vietnamese Telecom (Viettel) company bought a 60% share, with the Haitian government keeping the remaining 40% of the company. Natcom officially launches Internet services in Haiti and will provide DSL internet via fiber and fix-line telephone services along with mobile GSM services.
